We're growing even more and need your help!
The Jena Skatepark Community started with a simple truth — there’s nowhere safe or welcoming for our youth to skate, hang out, or just be kids in town. We saw a need and decided not to wait for someone else to fix it.
We’re parents, skaters, neighbors, and advocates. We’re organizing this project with two goals:
Create a real skate space now so our youth have somewhere to go.
Secure funding for a full-size concrete skatepark that lasts generations.
This isn’t about trends — it’s about giving kids in Jena the same opportunities as those in bigger towns.
Skateparks Improve Lives — And Towns
This isn’t just a “park project.” It’s a public health initiative. A violence prevention strategy. A youth outreach tool. Studies and real-world examples show that skateparks:
Reduce isolation and depression among teens
Promote physical activity and self-expression
Give communities a central place to gather and support each other
Help law enforcement and city staff by creating safe, designated zones for skating
Turn unused or problem spaces into points of pride
Want proof? Just ask Ruston, where a similar grassroots effort turned into a funded, thriving concrete park that now hosts regular events and builds unity across age groups.
We’re not a paid team. We’re not waiting for permission. We’re people from Jena who saw a gap and decided to fill it.
